Why Epoxy is the Best Solution for Your Pool

Fiberglass pools are traditionally made with gelcoat, which is great for the manufacturing process, but not ideal for long-term use in harsh outdoor conditions. Gelcoat tends to oxidize when exposed to UV rays, which is why you might notice that it wears down faster over time.

When we resurface your pool, we use epoxy, a superior material that is often used in tanks designed to hold harsh chemicals. Epoxy creates a stronger, more durable finish that is resistant to chemical exposure, sun damage, and everyday wear. In short, epoxy provides a longer-lasting, smoother, and more reliable finish for your pool.

Turn Your Old Pool Into a New One

Our process takes about 4-7 working days from start to finish, depending on the size and condition of your pool. Once complete, your pool will not only look better—it will be stronger and more resistant to future wear and tear, giving you many more years of enjoyment.

Blisters

Osmotic blisters form on the sides and
bottom of fiberglass pools. These blisters
form over a long period of time. As the
original gelcoat and fiberglass breakdown,
water is able to make its way through the
laminate. It will find a pocket called a “void”.
A void is a small pocket of air left from the
manufacturing process. The water will
collect in the void. More and more water
will follow and blisters are formed. We
remove the blisters, re-laminate the
structure and it is better than new when we
are done.

Structural Repairs

The ground can shift due to settling, ground
water can cause pool bottom to crack if
drained incorrectly or Uncle Bobby drove
the backhoe over the lip of the pool. We
can handle all of these issues. these types
of issues take an experienced team to fix.
We draw up a detailed engineered plan to
give you piece of mind.

Dilapidation and Wear

Over time the original surface of your pool
wears off due to use, cleaning and the
coating breaking down. Often times this is
accompanied with the surface being chalky
or making the pool cloudy after swimming.
In some extreme instances people can feel
itchy after swimming or brushing up on the
sides of the pool. when the original coating
breaks down it is from oxidation, this is what
makes the water cloudy. When the coating
is gone, the fiberglass structure is exposed
and the fibers can make one feel itchy after
swimming.
